You have signed up for NYSA Recreational Fall Soccer League and you are probably wondering what happens next? The simple answer is that you get to relax and enjoy your summer, NYSA and its volunteers will be hard at work getting the league ready for the fall.

The busiest volunteers this time of year are the Age Group Coordinators (AGCs). The AGCs are volunteer board members who have been assigned a specific age group to manage and organize for the fall season (Find out who your AGC is here). They create the teams, recruit coaches, distribute information from the league, inform coaches on upcoming trainings, and answer questions. Their first job is to organize the teams based on evaluations from the previous year, school, and neighborhoods. The team formation process will be completed by the end of June. Once final adjustments have been made, the rosters are distributed to the coaches. You can expect to hear from your coach, towards the end of July. Practices begin the first week of August.

Have a great summer!  See you on the pitch in August!

Meet Your AGC!
This month we're introducing our returning U7 Boys Age Group Coordinator (AGC), Eric Hobson and U8 Girls AGC, Donald Army!
Eric Hobson has been involved with NYSA for the last six years as a recreational coach, select manager, and recreational Age Group Coordinator.  Eric has two boys playing for North Marin United, Cameron and Jake.  But in reality, he has been involved with NYSA for much longer.  Eric grew up in Novato and played in the inaugural season of NYSA back in 1979.  From there, he played on the Novato Express traveling team and for San Marin High School.  His love of soccer continues today while playing on two teams, helping with both his son's Select teams, and acting as the U7 AGC.  Suffice it to say, his wife Lisa is a very tolerant woman.

Our new U8 Girls Age Group Coordinator (AGC) is  Donald Army.   Many of you may recognize him as the U8 Girls coach last year that wore his infamous "PINK ZEBRA" socks or you may seen him on the pitch with the "Soccer Kicks" program last year.    Donald also coaches on the select side and is involved with the Advance Recreational Academy.    When Donald is not helping out in the community of Novato,  he enjoys spending time with his family,  fishing,  hiking,  and home brewing!
